Storytelling Photography is my thing.
Hi, I’m Em—a nature-loving soul with a deep passion for storytelling through light, connection, and the quiet magic found in everyday moments.
As a natural light photographer, I’m drawn to the beauty of the Australian landscape, using it as a dreamy, organic backdrop to frame your most meaningful memories.
I specialise in newborn and motherhood photography, capturing the tender, sacred bond between mother and child—the kind of moments that slip by too quickly but deserve to be held onto forever.
It’s an honour to preserve your story in a way that feels nostalgic, emotive, and uniquely yours.
And if you're drawn to moody tones, storytelling galleries, and that dreamy, grainy film feel - I think we'll get along just fine.
Let's create something soulful together.
Where it all began
My love for photography started long before I ever called myself a photographer. As a kid at family gatherings, I was always the one setting up the camera, corralling everyone into frame, and pressing the shutter. Looking back, those images—especially of loved ones who are no longer with us—are more than just photos. They’re time machines. Moments frozen. Pieces of our story stitched back together by light and memory.
As a teenager, I begged for a yellow underwater camera (remember those clunky digital ones with terrible megapixels?). I didn’t care that the photos weren’t perfect—I just loved creating. The way a lens could see what I felt, not just what I saw.
When I landed my first job, I proudly saved up and bought a second-hand Canon 1100D for $500. I didn’t know anything about manual settings, but that camera felt like magic in my hands. And yes, I still have them both to this day as you can see in the above photo.
Fast forward to 2019—my daughter was born, and so was the deeper purpose behind my photography. I bought a Canon 200D to document her world. Like so many of us, motherhood was the spark. I dipped my toes in with chaotic Christmas minis—no contracts, no set plans, just passion. From there, I was asked to photograph a newborn session (free of charge, of course), and something clicked.
I dove into learning everything I could—newborn safety, posing, editing, storytelling. I invested in education, gear, and growth. I gave away sessions in exchange for referrals and slowly, steadily, I began to build something real.
Over the years, I’ve photographed over 100 families, couples, and businesses. I’ve fine-tuned my eye for detail, my way of holding space for people, and my editing style—moody, raw, emotive. The kind of imagery that lingers in your heart. The kind that feels like a memory already when you look at it.
I’ve also fallen in love with the nostalgic magic of 35mm film and Super 8 videography—adding that extra grainy, cinematic touch that speaks straight to the soul. My camera collection has grown and so has my purpose.
Because for me, photography has never been about perfect poses or curated moments. It’s about the in-between. The fleeting. The real. The quiet chaos of motherhood. The softness of newborn skin. The way love shows up in glances, not just grand gestures.
This is more than a job—it’s my life’s work. My way of preserving the kind of moments that mean everything in hindsight.
I can't wait to capture your next chapter.
